Pull-up network: The pull-up network is made up of PMOS transistors. It connects the output to the power supply voltage (Vdd) when the output needs to be in the high state.
Pull-down network: The pull-down network is made up of NMOS transistors. It connects the output to ground when the output needs to be in the low state.
